Asus Transformer Prime 32 GB Champagne Gold - So far so good
OK, therefore i'll start by saying that my Amazon order was not canceled, therefore there was no problem for me as far as my order goes. However, my docking keyboard still has yet to arrive. Amazon says it should arrive around January 6th.
Please note that I had the original Transformer, however I sold it to an exponent and purchased this one. therefore i'll do my best to match, however it has only been several hours that I have to be compelled to fiddle with the new one up to now.
Am I glad I updated to the present one, yes. Are there major noticeable differences? Some, however not drastic. clearly some new Tegra games can not be played on the original Transformer, therefore there are the plain hardware updates to the present Prime model.
The new operating system, due later, may make this pill act utterly completely different. therefore i'll update once that comes out conjointly.
Pros:
* Tegra three chip makes for additional powerful gaming with games that are designed for it, moreover as overall performance improvements.
* The enhancements on Honeycomb OS are delicate, but nice. Hopefully ICS are going to be an enormous improvement.
* The screen has that special coating that they talked regarding, and although it will fingerprint up like crazy as with any bit screen pill, it is such a lot easier to scrub off the prints. Wow, it is nice.
* The rear camera may be a huge improvement over the previous model. Perfect? no, however incredibly improved? yes. The auto focus is good, although sometimes jittery when creating a movie. however overall it is nice.
* The rear camera has an LED flash now, which is very nice to possess.
* i like the gold color plenty over i thought i'd. it is very delicate.
* for less than having one speaker this point around, i was impressed by the sound for each music and games and general sound bites.
* They included a longer charging cable than the original three footer. looks to be regarding 5 foot this point around. Thanks for that Asus. the extra 2 feet seriously helps.
* The overall-design looks and feels higher than the original.
* when I opened it, and booted up, I had 2 Asus updates ready for me.
* Wifi speeds appeared an equivalent as the previous model. I did not take a look at it, just from using it and judging by memory.
* The screen looks abundant improved from the original, even supposing it is an equivalent resolution, the brightness helps and also the colors look higher.
* Movies look amazing on this screen.
* Adobe Flash sites work on this pill.
* not sure why we want it, however there are 2 microphones this point around.
* Asus implemented a replacement file manager which is absolutely nice and simple to navigate.
* Headphones connected sound amazing, and are in stereo. (I browse others questioning if headphones would sound good or not)
* HDMI port is not an equivalent as the original Transformer. this can be Micro HDMI and also the original was Mini HDMI. however it's nice on my HD TV.
Cons:
* the most important criticism I actually have is that the ability button is tough to press as a result of it doesn't stick out far enough. you have got to try to press it to really perceive. Took my a short while the primary few tries.

* There have been a couple of glitches in some apps that I've used. i'll try and take note on which ones and update on here.
* Some movies that I had were not ready to be played on the default player. I downloaded MoboPlayer and also the codecs and no issues now.
* there is only one speaker. Granted, it is nice sound, however still only one speaker? WTF? i suppose it was a design limitation.
Let me tell you that this one, compared to the original model, doesn't feel that completely different as far as noticing performance improvements. As I stated before, {this may|this might|this could} (or may not) modification after we get the new ICS operating system later. i do not need to sound biased and say that it will be amazing with ICS, however logically it is sensible that it will run smoother and faster overall, with the exception of older apps that are not designed around the quad core, etc.
So do not expect to ascertain an astonishingly noticeable difference if you played with the original Transformer.
I arrange to upload some videos to youtube soon that show the utilization of the front and rear camera moreover as some still photos.
If I notice the rest, positive or negative regarding the Prime, i'll post as soon as i get the chance.
My overall review: This was well worth the extra cash in my opinion. i like to keep my gadgets up thus far, and i loved the specs on this pill.
